Seen 1990s Derbys. Quarry Site . It had been converted for tree lopping as Blackburn Transport 507 after sliding into a bridge . The top deck attachment was a 1912 trolleybus service platform . Previously it'd been their bus recovery vehicle & fitted with a Leyland 690 engine as used in tug boats , a 1930 octopus gearbox with diff lock & 100 ton back axle . Jules had it for a few years & pulled 2 buses up a steep gradient leaving the Kerry Festival , ran out of diesel (as did the 2nd bus) so siphoned the 3rd and a woman held the siphon feed can for him . He used to get thrown off motorways as top speed due to gearing was 28 mph flat out . Max downhill speed at that time was 30 mph , It took the Otterborne Festival site as a low bridge ruled out going to Romsey . Then he stored it before Mark borrowed it& eventually ended up with a Kent dealer in the mid-90's . Photo Mark .
